Alsalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatu Allahi Wa Baraktuhu

As the Holy month of Ramadan approaches us this year, we are all coming to terms with how different this month wiII be in practising some of the usual traditions and customs.

The difficulty in navigating the changes due to COVID-19 have been testing and this no doubt will impact
on the way we observe the Holy month of Ramadan.

One of the central foundations of Ramadan is congregation. Whether that be through family, community or
friends, reflection, charity, sharing a meal and praying together are the most important elements of the Holy
month.

I know your organisation is at the forefront of doing whatever you can to still ensure there is a strong
connection to faith and the requirement to fulfil specific duties in a way that still meets the restrictions
currently in place.

I would like to thank you for enriching the social and communal fabric of our community and for the
leadership role you are playing. It is in these times that the true value of community organisations comes to
the fore.

I am grateful to represent an electorate and community which celebrates its rich diversity and works
tirelessly in supporting people in need and providing services to community.

I know we will find a way to undertake the faith requirement of the Holy month of Ramadan and I hope you
will find the special time with your respective families a blessing in itself.

During these most difficult days, I wish you a Ramadan Kareem and like you, pray for a timely and positive
solution to this current circumstances we are in.

May your fasting, dua and good deeds be rewarded InshAllah

Yours sincerely
